As a field service and workshop mechanic at SQMH, you will be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring that our clients’ machinery and equipment run smoothly and efficiently. This dynamic role involves a mix of workshop-based and on-site work, providing you with the opportunity to showcase your mechanical prowess in various settings. Whether it’s diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, such as engines, transmissions and hydraulics, or working with a variety of fuel systems, including diesel, petrol/LPG and battery electric systems, no two days are the same.
Key responsibilities of a field service and workshop mechanic
- Diagnosis and repair: Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems. This includes engines, transmissions, hydraulics and more.
- Variety of fuel systems: You will work with a range of fuel systems, from diesel and petrol/LPG to battery electric systems, ensuring that all machinery operates at peak performance.
- On-Site service: You will travel to client sites to provide on-site service and repair, demonstrating your ability to work independently and solve problems on the go.

- Diesel/petrol mechanic experience: Whether you have experience with light or heavy vehicles, your mechanical background will be invaluable.
- Driver’s licence: A current driver’s licence is required to travel to client sites.
- LPG licence (preferred, not essential): While an LPG licence is preferred, it’s not a deal-breaker. We value your overall mechanical expertise.
- Hydraulics understanding: A solid understanding of hydraulics is crucial for diagnosing and repairing machinery.
- Communication skills: You must be able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues alike.
